"...if it weren’t for my (OPRO) mouth guard being there, they probably would have been £200-£300 down the drain and no more front tooth!"

Warrington Wolves' Danny Walker

Last season, we spoke to Warrington Wolves' Danny Walker — watch him talk about his journey with OPRO, from childhood games to the roar of the Super League.

From garden side lines to the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Danny Walker’s journey in rugby league is a story of local pride, family bonds and finding purpose through sport. Born and raised in Warrington, rugby wasn’t just a weekend hobby. It was a family affair. With two older brothers already obsessed with the game, it was only a matter of time before Danny followed in their footsteps.

At just five years old, he laced up his boots and gave it a go, though it didn’t quite click straight away. He was out of his comfort zone and unsure at first. But everything changed once the games began. The buzz of competition, the pace, the camaraderie, he was hooked. Rugby quickly went from something he tried, to something he loved.

His career took him through Widnes, where he was named Young Player of the Year and made his professional debut in 2017. That season left its mark both on paper and in memory. But it was returning to Warrington that felt like coming home. Danny had grown up just down the road from the stadium. Now, he was pulling on the shirt of the team he’d supported from the stands. Every time he steps onto the pitch, it means just that little bit more.

OPRO became part of Danny’s journey in 2020, following a painful head clash (and not wearing a mouthguard) that left him without a tooth. Since then, his OPRO mouthguard has been a non-negotiable piece of kit, something he now wears every day in training and on match days. It’s become second nature, trusted protection for the contact and collisions that come with the sport.

Now an established first-team player with his sights set on silverware, Danny is focused on helping Warrington bring home major honours and building something lasting for the future.

But for him, it’s not just about accolades. Danny plays the game with a wider purpose, to be the best player, the best father, and the best person he can be. Always with a smile on his face and the full support of his hometown behind him.
